Sterile Hydrocolloid Absorbent Wound Dressing
Sterile Hydrocolloid Absorbent Wound Dressing: 1. The ability to absorb exudate from the wound. After absorption of exudate, the hydrophilic particles in the dressing form a gel-like semi-solid substance that adheres to the base of the wound, providing and maintaining a moist environment conducive to wound healing. 2. It is viscous and creates an airtight (oclusive) wound. A closed healing environment promotes microvascular proliferation and granulation tissue formation, thereby accelerating wound healing. 3. It can play a clearing function. On the one hand, hydrocolloid contains endogenous enzymes that promote fibrinolysis; on the other hand, the closed environment provided by hydrocolloid dressing is conducive to the removal of necrotic tissue by macrophages.
